W9: D2

Typically, I like working in groups so I was excited when I learned that we would have a group assignment.  I was also very curious and hesitant as to how it would work out since it was an assignment for an online class.  Thankfully, it all worked out well and it was a very interesting experience being placed to work with group of people that I initially had never met or seen before.  I thought this was useful for helping me gain experience for if I ever have to work with people in another state or just not be able to physically work with someone.  The first assignment itself also allowed me to gain experience with analyzing real claims in articles involving present issues, and also find and analyze the evidence used to support the claim.  Overall, the first major course assignment was very beneficial to improving my communication skills.

  1. I like how you point out that the part that help you as well besides wring about the article was getting to meet up with people and getting to take to them and using you communication skills. I personally had not thought about how the assignment are not just about writing a paper but also discussing with the group about they think of the article or website/ program. I think that this class is showing us how to communicate effectively with other people of the population. The parts about claims and fallacies are learned to be able to point out certain types and how effective they can be to persuade or communicate.

  2. i agree with you- i like working in groups as well. Especially for an online class it somehow makes assignment easier to get done and easier to coordinate on meeting. I like how you made it a point that, its a nice networking type of thing; meeting people that you don't know or haven't seen before, it is very useful to be able to experience this for your future.
I also stated that the first assignment was useful to me because it helped me understand more in depth about how to analyze a claim and point out how the main claim is supported.
