I found the different types of leadership to be very interesting. A leader is there to control the group by making decisions and has the most influence over the group members. The first type of leadership is authoritarian leadership. This leader makes all the decisions without consulting anyone else. The second type of leadership is consultative leadership. This leader will consult with the group members and figure out what the group wants before making their final decision. The third type of leadership is participation leadership. This leader will work together with the group members to make decisions. The fourth type of leadership is laissez-faire. This leader does not take initiative and simply waits for the group to figure things out. I think the most effective form of leadership would be participative leadership. Participative leadership allows for everyone to have and share their opinions, this way the goal is more group oriented rather than just focused on one person’s opinion.
Hi! I really like your explanation it has helped to understand the difference between all the different types of leaders there are. I find it very interesting how all leaders can fall into those 4 types. I agree with you about participated leadership being the best one since it is the most common used to settle with any problem. The part that I find interesting is that it can also be the most disorganized. Since everyone has a right to contribute it can be hard to control the subject they talk about. But I think in the book it says that participated can be useful as long as the leader sets some types of rules that must be followed to be proactive.
ReplyDeletehey, i liked your post because you clearly explained it really well about what is leadership and how being a leadership can affect our lives. plus, it also showed that there are people who can be a sustainable leader and then there are those who can't be a leader. being a leader, played a giant role of responsible and confident to lead a group that doesn't know what to do. clearly, i didn't know that there are two types of being a leader. describing the two type of leaders and how they can affect the group differently is great example for the post. i always thought that there is only one type of leadership which is the first one you have define. now seeing this you really change my mind about leadership. so keep up the work. later.
